Assignment context and description of activities The position is within the MicroStrategy Run team within ABN AMRO IT. This team?s goal is to deliver value to business and customers by taking 24x7 end-to-end responsibility for IT availability and performance. This is done by providing support to the users via our incident/problem/change processes and by maintaining the MicroStrategy platform for ABN AMRO. Our `big tickets? are: - Running a futureproof IT landscape - Running a stable IT landscape - Partnering in an Agile world - Unlocking trends and technologies - Shaping multi-skilled and passionate teams For this specific job we are looking for a technical MicroStrategy expert that understands the usage of the MicroStrategy suite (desktop, developer, system manager, operations manager, object manager, command manager, integrity manager) and the infrastructure it runs on. He or she should be able to: - service our business users and self-service BI Teams (e.g. consult the expert and end users, solve incidents and problems); - implement optimal use of Operations Manager (prev. Health Monitor); - work closely together with the solutions enabling scrum team and contribute to their activities from a run perspective (e.g. upgrades/fixes, defining a governance/target operating model, etc.). The MicroStrategy Run team consists of around 3-4 ABNAMRO Run Specialists, 1-2 IBM colleagues (technical infra focus) and 3 TCS colleagues who focus on application maintenance. All team members have various backgrounds and expertise. The coming period we are growing towards a `one-team? way of working. Goal is to get a multi skilled and passionate team that takes responsibility for MicroStrategy Run and that overcomes the boundaries within Run between FM, AM and TM (resp. AAB, TCS, IBM). With the following results: Some examples of the current user stories that the team has on their backlog and on which the applicant would be working: - Arrange advanced automated monitoring on the MicroStrategy environment on application and infrastructure level. E.g. create & analyse current usage of reports/dashboards; - Solve the upgrade issues resulting from the previous upgrade from 9.4 to 10.4; - Solve issues with Moderation Application (MA) and improve MA for run (MA is an in house build java application for managing access ranges within reports); - Acceptance testing and implementation of new features within the MicroStrategy platform (for example D3 visualizations and Vitara Charts); - Contribute to and accept security features within MicroStrategy and its connected platforms (for example Kerberos); - Participating from a run perspective in migrating the MicroStrategy environment from dedicated hardware to our internal dedicated cloud solution; - Implement several improvements defined in the Health Check done by MicroStrategy Q4 2017; - Knowledge transfer to the run team and improving the way of working. - Coaching the team to achieve more maturity. The starting date is as soon as possible and ending date is negotiable (preferably 11-12 months). Relevant knowledge and skills: - 5 or more years experience in MicroStrategy platform (pref. run/maintenance) - Knowledge and/or education on Bachelor level in the area of IT, Information Studies, Software engineering or a related discipline - Knowledge of Systemmanager, Objectmanager and Operations Manager - Experience in Java, Javascript and websphere environment - Knowledge/experience in ITIL/BiSL Service Management - Strong communication and collaboration skills - Proven ability to apply analytical and creative thought - Motivated, independent and proactive work attitude - Basic knowledge of databases such as SQL, Teradata, Hadoop and NoSQL - Loves to work in a challenging and high demanding environment - Strong consultancy and coaching skills Ricardo van Buren Alice Bakker +31 88 3278402
